Al Gharraf, in collaboration with its sister company Al Makahi Al Iraqia has opened its first Second Cup coffee shop outlet in the Baker Hughes camp in North Rumaila, Basra. The café is fully licensed and is once of the first international food franchise brand to open in Iraq. Second Cup currently serves its signature coffee, pastries, and sandwiches to Baker Hughes staff and guests.

Al Gharraf is awarded the camp life support contract by NPS for their MENA 1 and MENA 2 rigs operating in the Zubair and west Qurna fields. The rigs are operating under contract for Schlumberger.

Al Gharraf has successfully completed the construction of the NPS Base Camp in Barjaseyah, Basra. The site has been handed over to the NPS management team. Construction of the camp was initiated in February 2012 and was completed on schedule on May 30, 2012. The site includes offices, residential, and recreational facilities and will be the center of operations for NPS staff in Basra.
